The My Baskets team got to gracefully attend the 2025 SIAL Food Show in Toronto at the Enercare Centre. Our overall experience was exceptional from the moment we arrived. The venue was filled with a euphoria and joyous atmosphere, which set the tone for the entire duration of the day. The event was filled with many individuals who were passionate food lovers, industry professionals and knowledgeable about global cuisine.
Our team had the pleasure of getting to meet many different companies and vendors that introduced us to many types of foods and beverages that were delicious and enticing. There were a variety of different global food options, ranging from North America, Central America, Europe and Asia.
We got to first meet Nasdrow, a mocktail company based in Quebec that makes amazing beverages. They replicate alcoholic cocktails, however, contain no alcohol yet similar tastes. Using natural ingredients and no added preservatives, these drinks are wonderful for social gatherings without having the need to consume any alcohol. With exceptional tastes and flavors, these mocktails were delicious and a standout favourite of ours.
Our team attended a cheese taste tasting that was very well planned and executed, while also using top tier cheese choices for us to try. The leader of the testing was extremely knowledgeable about culinary innovation, the history of the companies that make and provide the cheeses, while also teaching us some fun facts about how they are made and produced. Each of us had a mini charcuterie board set in front of us that came with 3 different cheeses on it, and a variety of other small snacks that can be paired and eaten with it. The cheeses that were included were all Canadian from Fromagerie La Station in Quebec, Cows Creamery in Prince Edward Island and Quality cheese in Ontario. Each cheese was delicious, and we loved the variety that included: Raclette de Compton au Poivre, Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar, and Bella Casara Ricotta.
From vendors having delicious artisanal cheeses, cured meats, matcha, bubble tea, cookies and desserts, there was something to suit every taste. These gourmet treats are perfect for gifting, placing them into gourmet gift baskets, or adding them onto a spread for a charcuterie board. We got to taste samples and hear about the history and stories of some of the products, which was very interesting and intriguing to learn about. The tasting experience was sweet and allowed us to truly try the quality products that were provided.
Overall, our experience at the Sial 2025 Toronto show was fantastic and a great opportunity to meet many incredible people and companies. We discovered many gourmet products and beverages that are delightful and had many memorable interactions with vendors. It was a wonderful platform to build relationships and connections that we can contact for business. All food lovers and enthusiasts should try to make attending the SIAL show on their bucket list for their future events that they host annually.
