At the heart of downtown Toronto there are always magnificent events and shows to attend. “One of a Kind Show and Sale” is truly one of them that has been in process for 39 years since 1975. The Enercare centre exhibitions complex that is an ideal place for events of such hosted this unforgettable event.
One of a Kind Show and Sale is a wonderful place for shopping especially for buyers at My Baskets company who attend this event every year to look for new and brilliant ideas for their gift baskets. It is one of the largest consumer craft show that waves new talents each year and everything sold at the show is made by hand in either Canada or the U.S. More than 500 artists presented handcrafted and specialty items in a variety of mediums and styles including accessories, ceramics, fashion, fiber art, furniture, glass, gourmet, holiday, jewelry, kids, metal, mixed media, painting, paper, sculpture and wood. There is always something for everyone at this show. For us at my baskets company both the new gift and food ideas were the most interesting part of the show. We familiarized ourselves with local and regional businesses and makers that never knew exist. And above all the moment of having close contact with the artists and business owners and listening to their start up success stories has always been a great part of the show. Since then when we order a product that was first introduced to us there we immediately remember the warm, friendly conversation we had back in the show. This event is a must-attend-show. You will never return home empty handed.
In addition to shopping I enjoyed daily fashion shows and cat walks not only by very young girls but also by women over 50. It made me think how fascinating would be to keep your body in a good shape and feel young at heart.
From the hundred photos that we took at this great show, below I would like to share a few of amazingly beautiful and unique products that caught our attention. A sneak peak at “Timberfolk”, “Tangled Garde”, “Mellifera Bees”, “¾ oz. Tonic Maison” and “Fanex”:
Timberfolk - From Niagara handmade wood and plant home décor was a real treasure. Small gorgeous plants in a small piece of natural birch wood is a must-have attractive accessory for every home.
Tangled Garden - From Nova Scotia luxurious gourmet hand-crafted wine jellies, jelly, jam, chutney, mustard, vinegar and honey. The fascinating and interesting part of their production line is that they use fresh herbs from their own garden and fruit from the surrounding Annapolis Valley. Their handmade wooden gift boxes were a combination of food and art.
Mellifera Bees – From Vancouver Exceptional honey infusion in beautiful jars. We at my baskets company who always search for new products were amazed by their signature honey. The experience of trying ginger and chili infused honey was unforgettable.
Tonic Maison – From Montreal Handcrafted tonic for quality cocktails. This original, unique and high-end product has the best ingredients for the perfect cocktail drink.
Fanex – From France hand painted Crystal and Limoges music eggs. Each entirely handmade porcelain items adorned with a texture and a story behind it. The box is signed on the back by Peint Main Limoges France.
